    Mr Jarosław Suchoples

    Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Finland        


    Ambassador Jarosław Suchoples, PhD, is a graduate of the Faculty of History at the University of Gdansk; he pursued his PhD studies at the University of Gdansk and at the History Institute of the University of Helsinki. His academic career flourished not only at the University of Helsinki, but also at the Berkeley University of California, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, University of Wrocław, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, University of Szczecin. From 2000 to 2002 J. Suchoples worked as an analyst at the Polish Institute of International Affairs in Warsaw. He also led a research project at the Library of Parliament in Helsinki in 1997. Between 2013 and 2015 he worked as Professor of European Studies at the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS) of the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in Bangi near Kuala Lumpur. He has authored a number of scholarly publications on Finland and the Baltic Sea region, on issues related to World War I and World War II, and the memory cultures of these global conflicts.
